A clean address file before every mailing
Duplicates, missing postcodes, misspelt towns, first names in the wrong column: a file that has lived for years costs money on every mailing. We put it back in order, for a mailing with us or for your own use. The service applies to addresses in France.
- Costed diagnosis before any processing
- Prices per file, known in advance
- Your data is never sold or rented

What we do with your file
- DiagnosisNumber of rows, exact and near duplicates, incomplete addresses, columns to restructure, and the exact quote for the useful treatments.
- Cleaning and formattingDeduplication, French postal standardisation, consistent titles and capitals, one piece of information per column.
- Additional treatmentsAddress check against the French national address database (BAN), merging of several files, geographic split, company data enrichment.
- File returnedA clean, structured file with a before / after report: ready for our mailing workshop or for your own tools.
Cleaning, in practice
- Deduplication: exact duplicates, but also near duplicates such as “Mr Jean Dupont” and “DUPONT Jean” at the same address, or the same address with a typo. We keep the most complete row.
- Postal standardisation: each address is brought to the French postal standard: six lines at most, 38 characters per line, street written in full, postcode and town in capitals on the last line.
- Postcodes and towns: each postcode and town pair is checked, including merged and newly created municipalities.
- Column restructuring: one piece of information per column (title, first name, surname, company, address, address line 2, postcode, town, country); an address held in a single cell is split.
- Consistency: uniform titles, capitals corrected (“jean DUPONT” becomes “Jean Dupont”), extra spaces and stray characters removed.
- Unusable rows: incomplete addresses, empty fields or test rows are set aside and reported, never deleted without your agreement.
- Before / after report: the number of rows, duplicates removed and addresses corrected, so you know exactly what you are sending.

Frequently asked questions
Which file formats do you accept?
Excel, CSV, delimited text and the usual exports from CRM or till software. One column per piece of information is ideal, but we can also restructure a file whose address sits in a single column.
Do I have to send the mailing with you?
No. The cleaned file belongs to you: you can use it for a mailing with us, with another provider or in your own tools.
Is the diagnosis compulsory?
Yes, it tells you what your file contains and what the useful treatments will cost. It is yours to keep, whether or not you order the rest.
Can you supply a prospect list?
No, that is not our business: we neither sell nor rent files. We make sure yours works properly.
Do you handle addresses outside France?
The postal standardisation and address checks apply to addresses in France. For other countries, write to us and we will tell you what we can do.
